Me and my photography

I'm a freelance photographer based in Como, a beautiful city in the northern part of Italy, close to the Swiss border.

Surrounded by lakes and mountains, when I'm not abroad, I have the chance to explore and discover the beauty of the areas within my region that are almost endless.

Being an SSi/PADI divemaster and diveguide, I have combined business with pleasure and I started taking pictures even underwater.

Photographing pushes me to travel, dive and vice versa, everithing is related.

Like many people I started to photograph seriously in 2013, by chance, after buying my first used DSLR camera and a kit lens, because I was tired of the poor quality of my compact camera that in many cases was really annoying.

What I did not expect was that without the appropriate technical and practical knowledge, even with the best DSLR in the world I would not have achieved the minimum result.

From that day on, I began to read as much as I could on technical and artistic aspects related to photography, to acquire the most complete knowledge possible in relation to each topic.

Obviously I combined everything I learned by studying with a lot of practice in the field before obtaining results that would satisfy me.

Once I learned to photograph well enough, my desire to travel has increased exponentially and in just 5 years I have been almost all over the Europe, I lived 3 months in Madeira working in a diving center and I was lucky enough to stay in America and Canada for some months during my bachelor, which allowed me to visit New York, Toronto, Lewiston, Buffalo, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco, New Orleans and Washington DC.

Thanks to these life experiences and travels when I achieved a lot of practical knowledge, I understood that for photographic genres such as landscapes or underwater, planning is everything.

I believe that the success of a photo depends on many variables to consider carefully in addition to the technique and equipment. Some mistakes can be avoided only by doing, others thanks to knowledge and planning.
